Terms of service
Last updated: 27 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and GridLog when you use the GridLog app or website. We’ve tried to keep them short and in plain English. By creating an account or using GridLog, you agree to them. Please also read our privacy policy, which explains how we handle personal information.
Who we are
GridLog is run by Sam Busher, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom (“GridLog”, “we”, “us”). You can contact us at support@gridlog.co.uk.
Your account
- You must be 13 or over to have a GridLog account.
- Your account is just for you. Don’t share it or let other people sign in as you. We sign you in with codes sent to your email, so keep your email account secure.
- Give us accurate details, including your real name, so your teams know who you are.
- You’re responsible for what happens through your account. Tell us straight away at support@gridlog.co.uk if you think someone else has used it.
Teams and roles
Most of GridLog happens inside teams. A team’s admins decide who joins and what role each person has (admin, coach, statistician or player), and can change or remove those roles. If you set up or claim a team, you confirm you’re allowed to run it on GridLog on the club’s behalf. If there’s a dispute about who runs a team, we may decide who keeps admin access, based on what the club tells us.
Your content
“Your content” means everything you and your team put into GridLog: stats, rosters, game film, cut-ups and tags, plays and playbooks, crests and messages.
- It stays yours. You (or your team) own your content. We don’t claim any ownership of it.
- What you let us do with it. You give us permission to store, copy, process and display your content only as needed to run GridLog for you, for example to stream your film to the people your team shares it with, or to show a public team’s stats. This permission ends when the content is deleted, apart from short-lived backups (see our privacy policy).
- You need the right to upload it. Only upload film and other material you have the right to use. That includes having any permission needed from the venue, league or whoever filmed it, and from the people who appear in it. Teams are responsible for having consent from players, and from a parent or guardian for players under 18, to record and share their stats and film.
- Sharing. Coaches choose who can see film, playlists and playbooks. If something is shared with you, it’s for your team’s use only. Don’t download, record or pass it on outside your team without the team’s permission.
- Keep your own copies. GridLog isn’t a backup service. Keep the original copies of your film and anything else important.
Film storage
- Each team has a film allowance, measured in hours of film stored. When it’s full, you’ll need to delete film, trim games, or move to a larger plan before uploading more.
- Trimming is permanent. “Finish and free up space” keeps only the plays you’ve cut and permanently deletes the rest of that film. It can’t be undone.
- Deleting film deletes it for everyone in the team.
Using GridLog fairly
Please don’t:
- upload anything illegal, abusive, hateful, sexually explicit or violent, or anything that invades someone’s privacy;
- use GridLog to bully, harass or threaten anyone;
- upload film or information about people without the right to do so;
- try to get into accounts, teams or film you haven’t been given access to;
- copy, scrape or resell GridLog or its content, or try to reverse engineer the app;
- upload viruses or anything harmful, or do anything that overloads or disrupts GridLog.
If something on GridLog worries you, especially anything involving a child, email support@gridlog.co.uk and we’ll look into it promptly.
Early access
GridLog is new, and some features (including film and the playbook) are in early access. During early access, features may change, be limited or be withdrawn, and things may occasionally go wrong. We’ll do our best to tell you about big changes in advance.
Paid plans
Some features need a paid plan. When paid plans are available:
- We’ll show you the price, what’s included and how often you’ll be charged before you pay. Prices include VAT where it applies.
- Payments are taken by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
- Plans renew automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep your plan until the end of the period you’ve paid for. We don’t refund part-used periods unless the law requires us to.
- If we change a plan’s price, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before it affects you, so you can cancel first if you want to.
- If a payment fails and isn’t sorted out, we may limit the team to viewing only, and after a further notice period, delete film above the free allowance. We’ll warn you by email before we delete anything.
- If you’re buying as a consumer (rather than for a club or business), you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days. If you ask us to start your plan straight away, you agree you’ll pay for the service used before you cancel.
Our service
We work hard to keep GridLog running smoothly and your content safe, but we can’t promise it will always be available, error-free or uninterrupted. We may change, improve or remove features, and we may need to pause GridLog for maintenance. If we ever decide to close GridLog, we’ll give you at least 60 days’ notice so you can download or save what you need.
GridLog uses other companies to run, such as Supabase (database and sign-in), Cloudflare (hosting and film), Resend (emails), Stripe (payments) and the Apple and Google app stores. Their own terms may also apply when you use them.
Ending things
- You can stop using GridLog and delete your account at any time (Team → Delete my account). Stats your team has recorded stay with the team, but they’re no longer linked to your account.
- Team admins can delete their team’s film, plays and other content at any time.
- We may suspend or close an account or team that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where we must by law. Unless it would be unsafe or unlawful, we’ll tell you why and give you the chance to put things right first.
Responsibility for loss
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit. If you’re a consumer, nothing here affects your legal rights.
Apart from that:
- we’re not responsible for losses that weren’t reasonably foreseeable, or for business losses such as lost income, sponsorship or opportunities;
- we’re not responsible for content that you or other users upload, or for how teams use GridLog;
- we’re not responsible for losing content you could have kept a copy of, although we’ll do our best to help recover it;
- our total responsibility to you for anything to do with GridLog is limited to the amount you or your team paid us in the 12 months before the problem, or £100 if that’s more.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as GridLog grows. If we make important changes, we’ll update the date at the top and let you know in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using GridLog after that, the new terms apply. If you don’t agree, you can stop using GridLog and delete your account.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes go to the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
